Who we are

Katrina and Kieran have been telling it like it is, collectively for more than 60 years. They are known for advising clients through communications, reputation and transformation challenges with frankness, urgency and ruthless pragmatism.

Both are experienced in blue-chip agencies and have also worked with nimble independents here and overseas.

They have led agencies and worked on complex communications briefs in all sectors across consumer, business and government organisations that need to communicate better, both internally and externally, to the people they care about.

And now, with B&M, the work starts and stops with them.

Kieran Moore

Life Motto  No Guts No Glory

Kieran has been working in the communications industry, both in Australia and Europe, for 35 years.

Before setting up B&M Consulting, Kieran ran the biggest PR Group in Australia. She also led a campus of agencies in the digital experiential, creative and technology spaces.

She worked in the UK through the recession (pulled beers in the Old Kent Road before she landed a job in a PR agency in the Borough Markets, London), worked through the dotcom boom, helped grow her agency from 15 to 130 employees and was on the leadership team that created the UK’s PR agency of the year.

Kieran is a straight talking, strategic thinker and a terrific collaborator. She has exceptional skills in building and managing corporate reputation and profile with the most senior executives and organisations across Australia. Her counsel is sought for complex business and change management strategies.

She has also sat on an ASX-listed Board and commits time, energy, focus and passion to supporting social justice in the areas of female education and gender equality.

Highly awarded over the years, Kieran featured in the B&T Women in Media Power List, 2018 and 2019 ; was voted in the Top 10 Most Influential Women in the Media by The Australian in 2014 and 2015; and was awarded The Ogilvy Giant Award, given to one individual globally who demonstrated the company’s values of living and working courageously, curiously and with a generosity of spirit.

She is regular industry commentator, panellist and moderator. She aspires to be a woman who makes a difference and who acts with honesty and integrity. She thrives on challenges and never gives up.

Kieran is a media junkie and a politics tragic. If she had her time again, she would be a human rights lawyer or a politician. Her hero is RBG and she also dreams about being Naomi Campbell, (only for the height, not the temper) but has realised that this position is taken.

Katrina Brangwin

Life Motto  If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

Katrina is senior communications leader who has been leading clients and agencies over the last 30 years across Australia, UK and Canada.

Her career has been focused on building reputation, revenue and relationships for communications agencies and their clients. (And concedes, she is a perhaps too fond of a little poetic alliteration.)

Prior to co-founding B&M, Katrina was primarily a change agent, leading major business transformation agendas for three different agencies and building a new campus-based agency model for Australia’s biggest communications holding company. Her core strength is creating an environment – culturally & operationally – that allows people to be, and perform, at their best through collaborative, emotionally intuitive and human leadership.

Katrina is a roll-up-your sleeves, get your hands dirty kind of operator. She prides herself on getting to the nuts of a challenge by asking the big questions and working collaboratively and creatively to find interesting, results-driven solutions. Her stage aspirations are now fulfilled facilitating workshops and co-designing communications strategies.

As a comm’s graduate she turned down a prized offer with one of the “big four” for a start-up communications agency with no office, no employees and no clients but a lot of chutzpah and a belief in a better way. She went from Employee #1 to MD over the next 15 years leading an integrated group of four communications businesses and 50 employees and is forever thankful for the creative, rewarding and entrepreneurial experience of that sliding doors decision.

Katrina’s career was built in brand marketing and communications and she worked both locally and internationally on major global brands such as Sony, P&G, Nokia, Diageo and Molson Breweries amongst many others, contributing strategically and creatively to these businesses and shaping her expertise of best-in-class marketing communications.

While accepting that she may have missed her shot at Olympic glory, this does not stop her from rising at 4.30am for rowing training, her new-found passion, where she has learnt to further appreciate the emotional and physical power of women working together; the simple joy of sunrise on the water and the humility of learning something new.
